4 - Carrying the Weight
I try to hold all the things that I want/need to do in my mind at once.
All the possibilities. I energetically try to carry the full weight of them. All of the inventory, the check lists, remembering each thing. Like grasping water with my hands.
And so I’m leaking energy all over the place. Dropping things constantly and stressing myself more as I try to still hold everything and pick them back up.
So exhausted from the struggle, that I’m not actually able to move or act on them with any consistency.
There is no completion. It’s never ending grasping at multiple streams of water and trying to control the flow.
I must let it all go.
I don’t need to remember.
I can let Source hold it all.
I can “forget” all the things. And when it’s time to focus on something I can simply tune in to Guidance to know what to do.

Today, I was explaining this concept to my child and a beautifully accurate and simple analogy came to mind.
Our thoughts, feelings, and experiences are books in the library of our mind; our loved ones, businesses, homes, self care, etc. The book we are currently reading/writing is what we are focusing on in life at the present moment.
My brain tries to hold a pile of open books, switching out which book is on top of the pile, dropping some, trying to read from more than one at a time, trying to keep track of my place in each book, etc. etc.
God is inviting me to close my books, and place them on their shelf. They even provide bookmarks. I don't need to carry them all, much less try to carry them open and ready.
One at a time... switch out the book I'm focused on as needed... seek out divine guidance on which book I'm meant to put my energy into and let everything else simply exist on God's shelf.
What do you think?
How many books are you lugging around with you throughout the day? How much energy are you spending on simply carrying them with you?
What happens if you close the books and set them on the shelf, ready to be picked back up when it's time to switch?
This line of thought invites a rabbit hole of ways to expand the analogy:
Carrying so many books is why I am so easily overwhelmed and need to rest so often.
Individuals switch from book to book in different ways. Some people get so focused on their book that it's like a train barroling down the track. Switching tracks (books) can be as simple as flipping a switch and sending the train on a different track or it can be long and involved, needing time to slow down and come to a stop on a turn table, before switching directions totally and going in a different direction.
It can also be really hard to close a book if it's full of BIG emotions. The book keeps popping back open and interupting our current focus; or it simply won't shut, like it's an overstuffed suitcase you can't zip. Those emotions need to be fully felt and released before the book can easily close.
Sometimes you carry around more than one open book with you and it's perfectly healthy. Say you're a mom focused on dinner, and you also have an ear open for your child. The point is to be aware of how many books you are carrying, so that the load is as light as possible.
Sometimes you carry around a closed book, simply because you've forgotten to release it.
I would love for you to add your ideas and perspective in the comments on this post or reply to the email. Let's give each other some light bulbs đź’ˇ
All my love, Amanda.
